"Email address is not verified" bug

We've heard from some of you that you're continually prompted to confirm your email address, even if you've already confirmed your email address in the past.

The bug's been reported to our Team, and they're currently working hard to find a permanent fix. For now, here's a work-around to bypass the error message:

STEP 1:
  • Go to the URL below:
https://www.google.com/accounts/ManageAccount
  • If there are no red letters saying "Email address is not verified", then continue to STEP 2.
  • If you do see the red error message, you'll need to check your email account and confirm your email address (by clicking the link in the email that YouTube sent you when you created your username and account).
If you entered a wrong email address when creating your username, then you can click on "Change email".



If you're unable to find the confirmation email from YouTube, then you should also check your spam folder in your email account to make sure the confirmation email was not filtered there.
  • Once you've found the email, click the link included in the email to confirm your account. Your new YouTube account will then be activated (and you'll be able to use our community features).
STEP 2:
  • After you've confirmed / verified your email, go to the following URL:
http://www.youtube.com/finish_ssu

As mentioned before, our team's currently trying resolve the situation, and a permanent fix (in addition to this temporary work-around) will be on its way shortly. Thank you, as always, for your patience and understanding in the meantime.

  1. You keep making new, useless features every week. How about you slow down and instead start fixing the features you already have? The Bugs Reports & Technical Issues forum is open.. a lot of very legitimate bugs have been reported, if you bother to look.

    I just want to favourite a few videos, but didn't have a acc. I made one, put in details, etc. I opened email that said confirm email add. It tabbed and went to google saying confirmed, and had a link, but i clicked it off by accident, when i meant to exit a different tab. Now i can't favourite anything, it just says that i need to verify email add. I went to help and found this, went back, but the link won't come back, it just says i already HAVE verified. what do i do?

  4. there is no e-mail in spam folder.u dosent have mentioned that from where we close this problem after checking every thing which u have told.plz sir i want to upload some videos.plz email me.i need ur help.my email address is malikfaizan80@yahoo.com.thanks.

  5. I have tried over and over and over to get my email verified so I can start posting videos, but everytime it says a link has been mailed to my email address, I never receive it. There is nothing in my spam folder. Please help. Please send me the link so I can verify my account. Thanks Mike Griffith

  7. Liz, the "temporary workaround" does not work! It is just sending me through the same endless loop that does not work! All you've done is written out a detailed list of everything that does not work!

  8. YOUR FUCKING WEBSITE NEVER SENDS THE FUCKING CONFIRMATION EMAILS> SO WHY DONT YOU MAKE A NEW FUCKING HELP FORUM FOR THE PEOPLE WHO NEVER RECIEVE YOUR FUCKING EMAILS CAUSE YOUR SHIT DOESNT SEND EM. AND FUCK YOU LIZ I HATE YOU.

  9. or you can be completly locked out of your account and been following the stupid instructions on how to recover/reset log ins and passwords and still have absolutly nothing work and then wander around this frustrating site trying to find someone to contact without all these pre-formed complaint options to choose from till you finally end up here, ranting and raving in some random comment section.
    No I do not have a secondary e-mail, and no - I do not have any "old" emails that may have my user name or password in it....fucking priceless...

    seems like they dont want more users otherwise they would've solve the problem like ages ago... ive already lost an account, is they're not gonna do anything then why dont they say so, its completely unffair.. just want and answer no more complains, stop sendin us to dead ends, no the confirmation email is NOT in the junk stuff of whatever, also can someone writte in spanish i mean come on... not all of us are english native speakers... so pardon my french ..freakin youtube!!
